Graphic Design for Non-Designers Workshop
When you work for a nonprofit, you wear a lot of hats. Including lead designer for program and event materials or social media posts that promote your work.
Even though you’re not a “designer.”
Graphic Design for the Non-Designer is a practical workshop sponsored by Cause Collective that will help you create clearer, more polished and more credible communications—without becoming a professional designer.
Thursday, September 3

Why Design Matters
People make quick judgments about your organization based on what they see. A confusing annual report, overcrowded event flyer or difficult-to-read donor appeal can make excellent work appear less credible.
This workshop will introduce practical design fundamentals you can use right away, including:
– Organizing content with clear structure and hierarchy
– Making typography easier to read and scan
– Using images and color intentionally
– Creating consistency across your materials
– Keeping design from overpowering your message
Bring a Real Project!
The workshop also includes a hands-on feedback session.
Bring your laptop, a current project or printed materials you would like to improve. We’ll review examples together and suggest practical ways to make them clearer, more effective and more visually appealing.
Suggested materials:
– Annual report
– Donor communication
– Grant-support material
– Event flyer
– Volunteer recruitment piece
– Brochure
– Social media graphic.
You’ll leave with principles you can apply immediately and specific ideas for improving your work.
You already carry enough responsibilities. Let us help you with this one.
