Scrum Master
May 2, 2023

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?

I am motivated to set an example for my daughters, nieces and nephews about the value of faith, integrity, a strong work ethic, kindness, remaining steadfast in the face of adversity and doing all the little things that create sincere confidence.

What do you do at our company?

As the Scrum Master, I am responsible for the successful implementation of the Agile methodology across the companies along with the development of software and other products. This requires me to have a strong understanding of the Scrum framework and the ability to facilitate, coach, educate and mentor others.

What has been your favorite project so far?

In my role, I am responsible for multiple projects at once so it is hard to select a favorite. It is kind of like having multiple children; you have a favorite, but you can’t say it!

What do you like most about your job?

I appreciate that I get to work with some really intelligent and talented people that I learn from constantly. Whether it is someone in software development, product development, accounting or sales, I continue to be impressed with my teammates and peers! I also appreciate that I get to work on projects and products that have a positive impact on the lives of others.

Describe a typical day on the job for you.

A typical day on the job for me includes an average of four meetings daily that consist of one of four Scrum Ceremonies related to a particular project. FYI…Ceremonies is a cool way to say recurring events/meetings in Scrum, LOL! When I’m not in meetings, I am working at improving my skills as a Scrum Master, engaging with teammates regarding current and future projects and preparing for the next steps in the evolution of becoming an Agile organization.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  -Philippians 4:13

What is something on your bucket list?

I thoroughly enjoy college football in all aspects, which includes the pageantry, traditions and stadiums. My goal is to attend a game at every single Division I stadium. As far as I know, this has only been accomplished once.

Other than Nebraska, have you lived elsewhere? If so, where, and what brought you to Nebraska?

I am originally from Houston, Texas. After attending college at The University of Texas at Austin, I have lived in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and now Nebraska.
